BBQ Tips from The Vegetarian
I have two favorite things that I like to BBQ and one favorite thing that is pre-made BBQ. On the grill, I love to BBQ Portobello mushroom caps. I will take out the stem and wash the hamburger sized mushrooms. I then place them on a heated grill and baste them with herb seasoned olive oil. I make my own seasoning, adding whatever herbs/spices I have on hand to olive oil. When the mushroom caps are done, I place a slice of provolone cheese on them. I then grill the hamburger buns the same way, using the olive oil mixture. The combination is divine!
I also love to BBQ Tofurky brand beer brats and kielbasa. They are 100% vegan and SOOO good! You can even cook them on sticks over an open fire if you want!
At the store, my favorite pre-made BBQ is made by Gardenburger brand and is called Riblets. It is a fake meat product that has the taste of pulled-pork BBQ. It is dripping with wonderful BBQ sauce and tastes great on a hoagie bun. I think anyone, not just a vegetarian like me, would like all three of these BBQ favorites of mine. I know I love them all!
